Championing Digital Inclusion for Older Persons

We are proud to welcome Diana Etuhole Iiyambo, a dedicated Volunteer Social Worker with Connect Caring Namibia, to the global stage in Cape Town. Diana will present her research paper, “Assessing the Usage of Mobile Applications amongst Elderly Persons in Windhoek Rural Constituency, Namibia”, a compelling exploration of digital inclusion and the empowerment of older populations. Her work emphasizes the intersection of technology and community well-being, offering critical insights into bridging the digital divide for marginalized groups.

Beyond her academic contributions, Diana has led numerous development and humanitarian initiatives across Namibia and holds certifications in psychosocial support, HIV/AIDS counselling, and disaster risk reduction. She has also pioneered innovative tools such as memory boxes and hero books—creative approaches to healing and legacy-building among vulnerable communities. Through her unwavering commitment to community empowerment and policy development, Diana continues to champion locally driven solutions that advance the rights and dignity of older persons.
