CommonAge at the 17th International Federation on Ageing 2025 ( IFA) Global Conference in September at Cape Town: Amplifying Voices, Forging Partnerships, and Shaping the Future of Ageing with the theme “Rights Matter: Advancing Equality for Older People”, the event was a milestone in advancing dialogue on human rights, equity, and inclusive ageing across the world.
Ahead of the conference, CommonAge convened its Annual General Meeting on 8 September. Members reflected on key achievements of the past year and charted an ambitious course for the future. A highlight was the launch of 3 new CommonAge Chapters in Zambia, Mozambique, and Namibia, signalling the organisation’s growing presence and commitment to amplifying older people’s voices across the Commonwealth.
Another landmark moment was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between CommonAge and HelpAge International. This strategic partnership lays the foundation for deeper collaboration, integrating efforts to champion the rights and wellbeing of older persons globally.
