Annie Waddington-Feather, freelance journalist and communications consultant

Annie is a respected journalist and skilled communicator with over 25 years’ experience writing for publications in the UK and Australia, and leading, planning and implementing marketing and communication strategies for both non-profit and profit sectors.

She formally headed up our communications and marketing from 2015 to 2024.

During this period of time, as well as providing invaluable marketing and communications expertise, she contributed to many of our publications, notably our submission to WHO Framework on NCDs, Mental Health Conditions, our Ageism in the Commonwealth White Paper and headed up our intergenerational story telling project, co-editing the final publication, A Commonwealth of Experience, Freedom fighters, child brides and other untold real life stories, with Dr Ingrid EyersShe was also instrumental in the publication our pioneering Ageing in the Commonwealth and Dementia in the Commonwealth report. 

Annie is also experienced in multiple sectors as a researcher, editor, content and campaign creator, and delivering special projects such as ghost-writing personal autobiographies and managing company rebrands.

In recognition of her work, as part of the Care Provider Alliance (a coalition of the 10 main national associations representing independent and voluntary adult social care providers in England) core communications team, Annie was named as a finalist in the inaugural ‘Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care’ awards programme, under the category of Girl Power.
