KENYA, Monica Kinyanjui

Women For Dementia Africa (WFDA) is a pioneering initiative founded and led by Monica Kinyanjui, dedicated to transforming the dementia care landscape across Africa.

Recognizing that women are disproportionately impacted by dementia—both as caregivers and as those living with the condition—WFDA works to amplify women’s voices, challenge stigma, and advocate for inclusive, gender-sensitive policies.

Through awareness campaigns, education, research, and partnerships, the organization strives to build dementia-friendly communities and stronger support systems for individuals and families. Under Monica’s leadership, WFDA is driving forward a vision where dementia is seen not just as a health issue, but as a social and human rights priority across the continent.
